Understanding ET specs on wheels

Postby Alfaholic » Wed Nov 07, 2012 5:36 pm

I need some help understanding how ET secs work on wheels. I want a set if wheels with an ET of 50 and my current ET is 41. Will it work? I do have spacers as i read somewhere that fitting spacers will sort out an ET issue, but i don't even understand how ET works??

ET = offset.

If you are currently on ET41 and you move to a ET50, you are basically going 9mm further in to your wheel arches. Wheels are going to look like Marie biscuits. You plotting to go low and slammage?

Oh ok...so anything more than my curent ET means wheels will be more " in" the arches?
Anything less than my current ET means wheels will be more "out" arches something to that effect?

Aaah fok.

No I'm not looking to slam, just looking for 19's and not willing to pay so much for a wheel-looking at Life GP's BBS for my Alfa that the price range im opperating at. Alfa got an19" set of wheels but they look kak and 2 cars already have them in SA.

Thanks for the info guys, I've decided on the Alfa wheel in that pic as it clears the Brembo 4pot calipers, most aftermarket 5x112 wheels will not clear the Brembo calipers.
