Revo1 B8 S4 testimonial...

Postby Rabbit222 » Tue Sep 11, 2012 11:56 am

I had the pleasure of working on this car last week. The customer is from Durban and was dealing with our Durban dealer, VAG Sport. Due to the ecu being locked, the ecu had to be shipped to us so that we could unlock and flash the car with revo code. Below is a testimonial from the customer

Hi Team Revo

I thought I'd give you guys from feedback about the changes in the S4 :

The mileage turned 7777 Kms at the time of the ECU reinstallation.
That was probably a good omen !!

During the 1 st LOG session , it was immediately noticeable that the PEAK Power had increased.
The S4's originally not a slouch by any means, but now it surges ahead with more urgency and has a distinct 2nd burst of power at 5500+ rpm to the rev limiter.
It's more aggressive through the gears and even sounds more gruff and throaty, as a bonus.
I would hazard a guess of the Peak Power at +- 300kW in Durban.
But eagerly await an official Dyno.

More surprisingly, after 200 odd Kms, I am even more impressed by the Torque Gains...
The car is more effortless and driveable now , even at the lowest of revs and just cruising.
Yet it remains my everyday Sedan that seems untouched and totally stock.
Just now, more exciting when I feel the need !
I would confirm Revo Uk's gains of Torque at +- 500nM now, up from 440.

On the 2nd log this weekend, we stumbled on a Mercedes C63 AMG, and to my delight the S4 showed that not only can it hang on to a V8 from 100-180km/hr but also surge passed it !!
The Revo ECU changes have made the S4 "box" in another category, now up a category , with flagships like the M3 and the C63 etc.

The Revo software , has reaffirmed my decision to buy the Audi S4 over the M3, it's uncommon and goes under the radar almost unnoticed , but now has added Bite and grunt !
I can't wait for a few hundred more Kms and the car to settle into a rhythm .

Thanks Team REVO .... REVO-Lutionary !

Well done revo! Any idea how a stage 1 S4 would do against a stage 1 RS3?

Traded it in on a Q5 bru. Vrou was hassling me for a mummy mobile :(The new owner called me a few weeks ago though. Said that he had driven another S4 before buying mine from Audi Hatfield and wanted to make sure if the car had software or not because there was and i quote "A marked difference in terms of performance between the 2 cars that he drove." :mrgreen:Honestly flashed my car about 3 days before i traded it in and in that 3 days i never experience fear driving my car especially with the way she accelerated up top...it was brutal

Thanks guys for your positive comments.

@ Sam, S4 is no slouch. Rs3 may get ahead on the launch but the S4 should close very very quickly.
